Structural changes in trade and the global economy have led box shipping to a crossroad where carriers must consider a new direction, the TPM Asia shipping conference in China was told. The global economy is continuing to go through a structural adjustment, with few signs of recovery and issues such as insufficient economic driving power for growth, sluggish trade investment, weak demand, overcapacity, and changing competition to be overcome, delegates were told at the conference in Shenzhen.
