Rickmers-Linie sold to Zech's MPP contender

German shipowner Rickmers Group has sold its multipurpose (MPP)/project carrier business, Rickmers-Linie, to the Bremen property and construction entrepreneur Kurt Zech. Under the sale, Zech is taking over the heavy-lift operator but not the ownership of its core fleet of vessels. The purchase price for what constitutes the second-largest among three Rickmers Group units - the other two being maritime assets/shipown-ing and maritime services/ship management - was not disclosed when the deal was revealed on 9 February.
