The board of directors of the Tetra Laval Group, which owns Alfa Laval, has announced that it is exploring the idea of divesting Alfa Laval, and says it feels another owner may be better suited to handle the continued expansion of the company. Alfa Laval, which is based in Lund in Sweden, has successfully established a business strategy that has focused on growth outside the liquid food sector which is the core business of the Tetra Laval Group. At the time of the acquisition of Alfa Laval in 1991, the company was active in several business areas, which were subsequently re-arranged within the group.
