Naval ships keep yards at work

Few shipbuilders can have a longer pedigree than Admiralty Shipyards in Saint Petersburg, which this year is celebrating its 300th anniversary. On the commercial front, Admiralty's most recent launch was the 47,400dwt product tanker Tuchkov Bridge, for Sovcomflot. This is the second vessel in a six-ship series and follows the launch of the Troitsky Bridge last November, the third ship - to be called Tower Bridge is due to be launched this summer. Although the ships' funnels carry the Russian national colours, the ships are registered in Monrovia and fly the Liberian flag. They were also built under Lloyd's Register survey and classified with LR.
