UAE-based satellite service provider Thuraya has introduced a new satellite terminal and signed up new distribution partners. The new terminal is an A5-sized 444kbps broadband terminal with advanced video streaming capability. It is claimed to be among the smallest in the satellite broad band category and, according to Thuraya, is considered to be the most efficient for its size in terms of speed offering and video streaming capability. The ThurayalP service is offered in varioi's monthly fee packages with limited and unlimited usages, depending on customer needs. Developed by Hughes Network Systems, the ThurayalP has a built-in antenna, which provides a rapid maximum reception speed of 444kbps and a maximum transmission speed of 202kbps. The fine-tuned video streaming uses dedicated channels at a speed of 384kbps.
