ChartCo adds AVCS updating

Electronic chart service provider ChartCo has expanded its service and can now deliver updates to the UKHO's AVCS cells across both its Broadcast and Select delivery services.rnThe new AVCS service adds to the currently available ENC and ARCS updates and will be added to the existing ENC service at no additional cost to subscribers. The AVCS is claimed to be thernlargest in the market, with at least 1,500 more ENCs than any other service including important areas such as Hong Kong, east and west coast of Africa, Indonesia and the Philippines. According to the UKHO, between 20 and 30 ships are switching to AVCS every week, and it sees collaboration with ChartCo as an important step in the continuing development of the service.
