A stylish entrant to service in northern British Columbia, the 17,800gt Northern Expedition has been designed and equipped to provide a year-round lifeline to remote communities while catering also to tourist traffic generated by the attractions of the Inside Passage. The latest Canadian ship is the fourth consecutive delivery from Flensburger Schiffbau to BC Ferries, having been preceded by the trio of diesel-electric Super C-class double-enders, and has given further emphasis to the German yard's position among the world's top echelon of designers and constructors of ro-ro and ro-pax tonnage.
