Waertsilae scores an AMS status double

A USCG acceptance of AMS status for the Aquarius EC Ballast Water Management System means that both of the Waertsilae ballast treatment systems can now be operated in US waters for an interim period of up to five years from the ship specific implementation date. The Aquarius EC system makes use of electro-chlorination and was obliged to gain active substance approval under the IMO's G9 process. Type approval was granted in December 2013.
