Telstra Delivers Sms To 13, 1300 And 1800 Numbers

Businesses using Telstra One3,1300 and 1800 numbers can now receive text messages as well as voice calls on these numbers. Telstra says the service Is a world first and will open up new marketing opportunities. The commercial launch of the service, SMS Inbound, follows a 10 month trial with a number of Telstra customers including Queensland Health and the Australian Defence Force. Queensland Health used the service for its quit smoking campaign to enable people to request quitting information be sent by mail during their Quit Campaign advertising. Mark West director, alcohol, tobacco and other drug prevention programs, said: "In the campaign we offered an SMS response and reached 4,000 additional people with support to quit whikmaintaining our call rates to Quitline," West said.
