Chorus is to expand its FTTH network to include urban homes and businesses in the Gore and Mataura townships by the end of 2019 - areas in addition to those to be covered by the Government's Ultra-Fast Broadband (UFB) or Rural Broadband Initiative (RBI). CEO Mark Ratcliffe said: "The existing network and the anticipated future demand in these areas mean Chorus sees merit in extending its fibre network even further in these communities." He said this would happen in the later stage of the eight year UFB rollout. 822-822 in all our UFB areas by 2015."
