Consumer protection at heart of MEP reports

The protection of consumers' interests is the purpose of two own-initiative reports presented to the European Parliament's plenary session, on 17 November in Strasbourg. The first report, from Bulgarian Socialist MEP Iliana Iotova, urges better protection of consumers through improved education and heightened awareness on credit and finance. The second report, drafted by Swedish Socialist Anna Hedh, aims to increase the public's awareness of the European Commission's 'Consumer Market Scoreboard'.rnThe Scoreboard is a tool that identifiesrnand analyses problems from the point of view of the consumers.
