Industry must not miss 1 December 2008 pre-registration deadline

On I June 2008, the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) will have to be fully operational. Though everything is not perfect yet, overall the agency is ready, Executive Director Geert Dancet says in an exclusive interview with Europolitics Environment. We're quite well along. The Management Board adopted several base documents destined to implement the agency. They specify how to adopt standardised procedures or the quality policy to be carried out. Then there are guidelines, adopted by the European Commission with the agency's backing. Some have to be finalised to be published on our website before 1 June. We are also quite far along in the development of the IT system.
