The EU Council of Ministers adopted formally, on 27 July, the regulation banning the importation of seal products into the EU. An exemption is provided for products that result from hunts traditionally conducted by indigenous communities to ensure their subsistence. This derogation concerns the limits of Alaska, Canada, Greenland and Russia.
