A Euroehambres survey on the implementation of the 2006 Services Directive (2006/48/EC) indicates significant worries as to the member states' ability and willingness to comply. The directive must be fully implemented by the end of 2009. It aims to liberalise the services sector by increasing trade in services, modernising administrative structures and creating a more business-friendly environment in the EU internal market. However, some 40% of the European national chambers of commerce surveved did not think their country will have fully implemented the directive bv the deadline.
