New study favours introduction of mega-trucks

The debate continues on the possible introduction in the EU of 'gigaliners' or 'mega-trucks' - giant trucks that can reach up to 25 metres in length and 60 tonnes in weight. Some people would like to see them on European roads, and the European Commission is analysing the advantages and disadvantages of this possibility. It has just released a new study carried out by the JRC (Joint Research Centre), whose conclusions on the whole are in favour of these 'road monsters'.
