Enhanced standards for power supply equipment

New, stricter energy efficiency standards for external power supply equipment will enter into force in two phases (2010 and 2011) in the European Union.rnThey correspond to internationally recognised energy efficiency criteria that are included in the most energy efficient models currently on the market. The new regulation, adopted by the European Commission on 6 April, directly concerns power supply equipment for most domestic appliances,rnsuch as cordless telephones, mobile telephones, notebook computers, modems and other electrical domestic appliances.
