During the European Parliament's plenary session in Strasbourg, on 11 March, MEPs voted in favour of a report that seeks to make the Small Business Act (SBA) legally binding. The European Commission introduced the SBA in a June 2008 communication, which was accompanied by several legislative proposals'. The SBA aims to improve the daily life of companies by unleashing the full growth and innovation potential of European small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), creating an SME-friendly business environment and changing the dubious public perception of entrepreneurs and risk-taking.
