Energy efficiency of computers: Possible effects of ErP Lot 3 proposal

The US Energy Star programme for personal computers does not adopt mandatory gates for market entry. The EU is currently considering a different approach through a mandatory program (ErP Lot 3) that would ban the sale of PCs that do not meet its standards for energy efficiency. This possible divergence was the reason of a report on the graphics technology of PCs, and the European and global markets.
