EP endorses BONUS R&D programme

The EU will contribute €50 million to the BONUS programme to fight pollution in the Baltic Sea. The seven-year programme obtained the green light from the European Parliament, on 16 June. It was initiated by eight EU Baltic rim states (Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and Sweden) and championed in the EP by Lena Ek (ALDE, Sweden), whose report was adopted by 630 to 14, with six abstentions.
