MEPs set up intergroups

Slowly but surely, the new European Parliament is getting organised to manage the key issues that will dominate the new legislative period. Two members of the Environment Committee, First Vice-Chair Corinne Lepage (ALDE, France) and EPP Group Coordinator Richard Seeber (Austria), almost simultaneously announced the creation of two EP intergroups, which they will chair. The first concerns seas and coastal zones and the second coversrnThe seas and coastal zones intergroup will deal with maritime transport and its contribution to combating climate change, protection of marine biodiversity, reform of the common fisheries policy, maritime safety and security, the promotion of marine energy and the development and protection of coastal zones.
