EP approves extension of technical measures

Technical measures for the conservation and management of marine resources, established in 2009', will be extended until 1 January 2013. On 6 April, the European Parliament approved by a very large majority the proposal to continue to apply the regulation, thus endorsing the Council's refusal to decide rules in haste before the Lisbon Treaty came into force, with its aDDlication of co-decision on fisheries.
