Industrial policy for globalisation era

Adopted on 28 October 2010 by the European Commission, the flagship initiative 'An industrial policy for the globalisation era' aims to stimulate growth and job creation by maintaining and supporting a strong, diversi- fied and competitive industrial base in Europe. It proposes, for example, to introduce an assessment of the impact of new legislation on competitiveness; quality checks for existing legislation; initiatives to support SMEs and strengthen European standardisation.
