Consultation to update rules on monitoring GHG emissions

On 7 March, the European Commission began the procedure to revise the rules covering monitoring and reporting emissions of greenhouse gases (GHGs) with the launch of a public consultation (ec.europa.eu/clima/consultations/0008/ index_en.htm). The current system relies on a 2004 decision that established a harmonised emissions monitoring and reporting mechanism for member states.
