'Green 10' NGOs propose stimulus measures to exit crisis

The ten large environmental organisations that make up the membership of Green 10, encouraged the European Council, meeting on 28-29 June in Brussels, to break the link between the banking and the sovereign debt crises. Governments, they said, "must regain the ability to implement policies that will transform the EU economy to make it more resource-efficient and resilient to worsening environmental conditions". Green 10 called for the adoption of green stimulus measures that are essential to economic recovery.
