Climate Change: Yes to financing, but within limits of budget constraints

Without reneging on their interna tional commitments to finance the fight against climate change, EU member states stressed that this financial burden must be "fairly" shared by developed countries "while taking into account budget constraints". In conclusions adopted on 21 Feb ruary1, the Ecofin Council reiterated its commitment to continue its coop eration with other countries and actors in order to find possible solutions for long-term financing and to mobilise innovative resources from various ori gins in order to reach the announced amount of US$100 billion per year by 2020.
