摘要

The scope of Annie Jafalian's project in the edited volume "Reassessing security in the South Caucasus: regional conflicts and transformation" is to move beyond a traditional scholarly concern with Russia's regional reassertion and its growing resistance towards the West in the aftermath of the 2008 war with Georgia. As the author highlights with regards to the conflict "focusing on only one part of the picture, these Western centred approaches overlook other points, in particular the local and regional implications of the Five-Day War" (p. 5).
