摘要

With the present issue, EREH celebrates the start of its sixteenth year. Although fifteen is a young age by the standards of academic journals, it represents a long enough life to justify taking stock of what has been done so far and looking ahead towards new objectives. EREH was launched back in 1997 with the aim of becoming "a new forum for the advancement of European Economic History". European Economic History, meaning Europe outside the British Isles, was largely missing from the main journals, whose content at that time principally focused on Anglo-American topics.
