In this article, we study the doubly heavy baryon states Ξ cc , Ω cc , Ξ bb and Ω bb in the nuclear matter using the QCD sum rules, and derive three coupled QCD sum rules for the masses, vector self-energies and pole residues. The predictions for the mass-shifts in the nuclear matter DMvarXicc=-1.11 GeVDelta M_{varXi_{cc}}=-1.11~mbox{GeV}, DMvarOmegacc=-0.33 GeVDelta M_{varOmega_{cc}}=-0.33~mbox{GeV}, DMvarXibb=-3.37 GeVDelta M_{varXi_{bb}}=-3.37~mbox{GeV} and DMvarOmegabb=-1.05 GeVDelta M_{varOmega_{bb}}=-1.05~mbox{GeV} can be confronted with experimental data in the future.
