摘要

The PID controller has been a workhorse in process industries for over forty years. The classical method of ZIEGLER-NICHOLS is an industry standard and PID-type controller are routinely used in Single-Input Single-Output applications with good results. But success with this type of controllers for multivariable or highly non linear processes has been limited. The increasing complexity of the processes to be controlled, together with the rising costs of energy and raw materials and the improvement of rentability are sufficient reasons to develop better control strategies. Model-based-control is one of these techniques which combines a nonlinear model of the process and internal constraints in order to get a satisfactory control law and better performances.
