MECHANICAL ENGINEERING RESEARCH

摘要

The department of Mechanical Engineering (WERK) coordinates the research in five fields: multibody mechanics, thermodynamics, vibration and acoustics, robotics and chaos. The research group multibody mechanics deals with walking and running machines. The research group on thermodynamics studies new energy conversion technologies : renewable energies, increased gasturbine efficiencies and reduction of emissions. Research in the field of vibration and acoustics mainty focusses on a/plications for the automotive and aeronautical industry. Specific research on parallel robots is performed in the domain of robotics. The study of chaos in related to non-linear mechanical systems. The purpose of this paper is to present recent research projects with the purpose of illustrating the available expertise. Most of the research projects are executed in an industrial or European framework, together with industrial partners or other research groups.
