On Observer Design for Non-linear Discrete-Time Systems

This paper focuses on the design of non-linear observers for discrete-time systems by means of a transformation into non-linear observer canonical form based on recent results presented by Brodmann and by Lin and Byrnes. In contrast to their approaches, past measurements of the system output are used. This allows extension of the class of systems for which an observer can be designed and leads to several observers with different character- istics.
