Dr Karapapa's Private Copying is a timely publication which emerged from the author's PhD thesis. Although this origin is apparent if one looks at the table of contents, the book provides a thoughtful and engaging analysis of the various issues surrounding this copyright exception or limitation. Following a discussion on the legal nature and rationale of private copying, the author examines the controversial notions of "private" and "non-commercial". She does so by adopting mainly an EU perspective and an approach which is meant to be both theoretical and practical.
