Ms. Ek, the European Parliament has always been firm in its support for a strong climate protection policy. Which technologies do you expect to be the pillars of a new low-carbon era?rnThe Stern report shows that there was no price for the environment. So what matters most to me is setting up a regulatory framework that sends the right signal by putting a value on carbon. In this context, I expect a wide range of technologies to deliver, and in particular, I see great potential for district heating and cooling in Europe. The Swedish experience has proven that district heating can contribute to more efficient energy systems and cleaner cities.
