Metso to supply a Turbine Control System

Metso has agreed with Vantaan Energia to deliver a turbine control system to Lang steam turbine of the Martinlaakso power plant in Vantaa/Finland. The new control system will be operational in September 2011. The new turbine controller will replace the old control system in a Lang turbine. The delivery also covers changes to the turbine hydraulics as well as vibration protection. An option for Metso's condition monitoring application is included in the agreement. The turbine controller will be integrated with the existing Metso DNA automation system, which improves plant cost efficiency and makes its maintenance easier.
