District Energy - a Means to Meet the Global Energy Efficiency Challenges

When we look at the benefits of district energy in the big picture we see first of all the environmental issue about reducing CO_2 and the saving of energy. More or less two sides of the same coin. What we also shall remember are the aspects connected with economic growth, creation of jobs and securing of energy supply. With EU being net importer of energy it is fundamental to reduce the dependence on the energy exporting countries.
