Brussels back to Business

It has been a year full of political changes for the Brussels arena. For Euroheat & Power, they translate into opportunities to create more visibility and support for sustainable heat. May brought in the spotlight the European Parliament (EP) elections followed by months of reorganisation. Much remained the same - the two largest political groups (Christian Democrats and Socialists) kept their stand, Martin Schulz remained EP President. Yet, many new MEPs, new political groups balance (Liberals lost third position, euro-sceptic and left-wing representation is enlarged), new agendas, new Committees' leadership (Giovanni La Via leads the Environment committee, while former EP President Jerzy Buzek heads Energy matters). Settling into their new roles, MEPs have taken their time to get back to »business as usuak It remains to be seen how the new EP will voice its opinion on key climate and energy issues.
