European Parliament Working on Medium Combustion Plants

Following the first agreement reached by the Council of ministers on the draft Medium Combustion Plants Directive in late December 2014, the European Parliament is currently working on the dossier with a view to adopt its position in May 2015. Two draft reports have already been released recently from the environment committee as well as the energy committee of the Parliament. In line with the Council position, a time derogation for District Heating plants of 5-50 MW from compliance with Emission Limit Values until 2030 (instead of 2025 as proposed by the Commission) is supported in both reports.
