Development for Vertical Heat Recovery Steam Generators with Natural Circulation

The stability criterion of the natural circulation in the vertical tube evaporator circuit is the assurance coefficient of circulation stagnation and circulation inverting. This criterion cannot be applied to the performance efficiency of the vertical tube evaporator since the effective heat of such an evaporator is negative. The efficiency and stability criterion for the horizontal evaporator operating under the continuous forced and natural circulation are presented in the following paper. The current research examined the efficiency of vertical Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSG) with forced circulation produced by JSC ZiO. These HRSGs are supplied with a complete set of design drawings and full documentation that can be used for designing of new vertical HRSGs with natural circulation. They span a pressure range of 0.61 to 9.3 MPa and thermal power range of 12.3 to 241 MW. Each boiler is provided with variations of possible changes in design that assure security and efficiency of the evaporating circuit in the natural circulation mode.
