Genetic Integrity, Authenticity, and Aesthetic Worth

After rightly rejecting the view that all change (beyond a certain threshold) to the integrity of genomes is intrinsically bad, Rohwer and Marris (2015, this issue) proceed to contest the view that all anthropogenic change to genetic integrity is wrong. In the first section I claim that the three refutations they provide fail to convince. Then, in the second section, I examine a possible ground for the opposition to anthropogenic interference with genetic integrity and articulate questions that subsequently follow regarding the practical upshot-a possible duty to preserve integrity.
