It is not easy to present in a single book the essentials of garden and landscape architectural design - running from history through landscape analysis and professional practice to vegetation and construction details in the works of contemporary landscape architects. This publication is an attempt to do so in an Italian edition, edited by landscape architect and professor Franco Zagari. It forms part of a series of 'design and technical manuals', mainly on behalf of the technical services of public authorities who finance, conceive and build parks and gardens as well as other open urban spaces.
