Likewise, Edge is being adopted For TDMA/136 evolution by the Universal Wireless Communications Con- sortium. The authors describe the architecture and equipment-related modifica- Tions that are needed for introducing Edge into a GSM or TDMA system, And explain how the Edge concept affects radio-network planning. They Also describe an evaluation of system performance.
