Korrosion von Flammenrohren in Rezirkulationsbrennern bei der Anwendung von Heizol EL schwefelarm

In using low-sulphur fuel oil corrosion damage due to metal dusting occurred sporadically at flame tubes of recirculation burners.This paper resumes results of investigations into the impact on the corrosion of parameters specific to the fuel.The investigations were made at the Oel- Wdrme-Institut gGmbH.Based on the experiments it is concluded,that the corrosion is enhanced by poly cyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAH).Evidence was found,that by an additive the effect of the PAH is inhibited.The combination of parameters initiating the corrosion could not yet be identified definitely.Reason was found,that the low content of sulphur-not exceeding 50 mg/kg-does not forbid the application of low-sulphur fuel oil in recirculation burners in principle.The investigations are continued.
