In autumn 1999 a high resolution seis- mic survey of totaling 15.13 km and a gravimetric survey of 3.5 x 3.5 km were ac- quired over the salt structure of Rudersdorf. The task of both geophysical survey methods Was to scout the structure of the overburden And the depth of the Mesozoic including the Top Zechstein. The seismic survey could not Produce a definite result for the depth of the Lower Mesozoic and the strike and dip of the WSW-ENE running fault zone in this depth Layer. The gravimetric survey should be a so- Lution to the two aforenamed geological que- Stions.
