The Bramsche-Massiv Anomalies-Again an Open Question?

An unsolved problem of regional geos- cientific importance for Northern Ger- many is the question of the existence of the so-called "Bramsche Massiv". The high thermal maturity in the southern area of the Lower Saxony basin, the CO_2-risk and mis- Sing reservoir properties are being regarded As an aftermath of this amssif, that is suppo- Sed to have risen in the Upper Cretaceous pe- Riod as mafic pluton at depths of about 6km. The existence of a massif of similar nature, Located between Schleswig-Holstein and Brandenburg and characterised by gravime- Tric and magnetic anomalies, the so-called "East-Elbian massiv", has in the meantime been credibly challenged.
