Erfahrungen bei der Anwendung neuer Technologien bei der Erdoel- und Erdgasproduktion

RAG is the oldest upstream oil business still operating in Austria today, with more than six decades of experience in exploiting hydrocarbons. We aim to be at the cutting edge of technology, both in exploration and production, as well as in implementing environmentally friendly procedures. At the moment, we produce more than 800 million m~3 cubic metres of natural gas each year in Austria. RAG is known as a reliable and safe operator of underground gas storage facilities. Following upgrades in 1995 and 2002, our underground gas storage facility holds an operating volume of 700 million m and has a withdrawal capacity of 290,000 m~3/h (scm/h). Moreover crude oil production, the emergency reserves-storage of crude oil with a total capacity of around 260,000 t and electrical power and heat generation are the main business areas of RAG. One of our key principles is the Balance between people, ecology and the economy. Distinctions in these areas both confirm the success of our company philosophy and encourage us to carry on implementing it in the future. Basic changes in the framework conditions of an industrial production, such as the rapid spreading of new technologies, the appearance of new, offensive competitors or the still thick networking of the economic goods, information and capital currents, make new demands to producing enterprises.
