Correction to Copper Oxide Nanoparticle Mediated DNA Damage in Terrestrial Plant Models

We recently reviewed the Supporting Information text for the Environmental Science & Technology article entitled "Copper Oxide Nanoparticle Mediated DNA Damage in Terrestrial Plant Models" by B. C. Nelson et al. (2012, 46 (3), pp. 1819-1827) and we noted an omission in the section describing the Plant DNA Extraction protocol. The test in this section did not include a description of the RNA cleanup procedure that was performed at the end of DNA extraction process. We have now added the RNA cleanup procedure to the original Plant DNA Extraction protocol. The RNA removal step is important for the accurate determination of DNA concentrations in sample extracts via absorbance spectrophotometry.
