CALIFORNIA Verified Diesel Controls

The state Air Resources Board (CARB) has released a list of diesel emission control systems (DECS) that meet the requirements of in-use fleet rules under CARB's DECS verification procedure. In March 2006, CARB amended the verification procedure to require that DECS do not increase nitrogen dioxide (NO2) emissions by more than 30 percent of the baseline oxides of nitrogen emissions level beginning January 1, 2007, and by no more than 20 percent beginning January 1, 2009.
