From the mountains to the sea: perspectives on renewable energy

New Zealand is perhaps unique in generating 75 per cent of its electricity supply from renewable energy sources, primarily hydro and geothermal. The majority of hydro development has been focused on the major South Island rivers, whereas the majority of geothermal development has been focused around Lake Taupo on the North Island.
