Jonathan Burnett studied hydrology as a graduate student in geography at Texas State University, and he has written a detailed account of twenty-eight flash floods in his home state. The book is part of a "River Books" series, and it is organized into twenty-eight short chapters, beginning with an account of the Austin dam break in 1900, and concluding with Guadalupe River flooding in 2002.
