Type the words "environmental engineering" into the UCAS course finder website for university degree courses starting in 2012, and the system gives you 67 options - courses that match the definitions that the central body for university admissions has in its systems for the term. But hang on a minute, you say, the 67 university courses that are produced - and that was precisely the number when we at EEC+C did this exercise back in September 2011 - don't by any means all include the exact words "environmental engineering".
